Frequently Asked Questions
We believe informed patients receive better care. Find the answers you need below.
Do I need to make an appointment to see a doctor?
No appointment is required for a general doctor consultation. PSMI currently operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
However, patients are also assessed through a triage system, which allows urgent cases to be prioritised and attended to first.
What payment methods are accepted?
PSMI facilities accept valid medical insurance, subject to the terms and conditions of each medical insurer.
We also accept cash and card payments. Payments are processed before services are provided.
Bank transfers are accepted; however, services will only be provided once payment has been received and confirmed.
What should I do in a medical emergency?
In a medical emergency, call EMRAS Ambulance Service on: +263 772 141 610
Our operators are qualified ambulance technicians who can provide telephone guidance while you wait for the ambulance to arrive.
Do I need to pay a co-payment to see a general practitioner?
No co-payment is required to consult a general practitioner at any PSMI facility.
Are specialist services covered by my medical insurance?
Some medical insurers cover selected specialist services, while others may not cover specialist costs or may only cover them partially.
Please contact your medical insurer directly to confirm what is covered under your plan.
